Valle Maggia

With a clarity and an almost unreal color the “Maggia” flows over boulders and underneath beautiful stone bridges. The Valle Maggia and the connected Val Bavone are a beautiful site in the Ticino known for remote stone-house villages, beautiful hikes and lakes up in the mountains. In Mogno the stunning chapel San Giovanni Battista by the celebrated architect Mario Botta is a must see.
And when you are hungry you can find extraordinary food in one of the many grottos that serve the local risotto or polenta.
